1920s Tin Locking Dime Bank

1920s Tin Locking Dime Bank

Sorry, this item has sold.

This antique coin bank was made in the 1920's with a clever design. The first dime locks the bank and it counts each one until $5 is reached when it unlocks. These banks were popular at the time and were sold to help both young and old to save up their dimes to put toward something worthwhile.

In fair condition for its age but the locking mechanism seems to have been sprung at some point in time. Counter works when dimes are inserted in the slot, but the door does not close all the way and can be pushed open despite the lock engaging.
