White Domestic Sewing Machine - Like New

Sorry, this item has sold.

The White Sewing Machine Company was a sewing machine company founded in 1858 in Templeton, Massachusetts, by Thomas H. White and based in Cleveland, Ohio, since 1866. In the 1950's the company faced losses due to a flood of imported sewing machines entering the market, but in 1955 they shifted their manufacturing overseas to slash costs and catch up in sales, and began importing and rebranding machines themselves.

This sewing machine is branded White Sewing Machine Products Ltd, and is essentially a copy of the Singer 15. This happened after WWII when Japanese manufacturers were given blueprints for American products as part of an effort to boost the Japanese economy after the war.

This is a premium model which is decorated with a pinstriping which resembles the lines on sewing patterns and comes with all its original accessories including the foot pedal, instruction book, Accessories tin, and Greist sewing machine attachments with instructions. Machine is in near perfect condition and runs smoothly. Has one spot with a paint chip as pictured, no other flaws in the paint. Comes with case.

This is a portable machine but weighs nearly 40lbs unpackaged. All metal construction means it can sew through thick fabric with ease. Belt driven motor runs but has some slack due to the age of the machine and lack of use. Belt could stand to be replaced, but is not absolutely necessary to use it.
