HL121 Braun Desk Fan Design by Reinhold Weiss

Sorry, this item has sold.

HL121 Braun fan. Design by Reinhold Weiss.
Manufactured in Spain between 1961 and 1971
This personal fan from Braun was revolutionary and a design breakthrough.
It is in used condition.
The fan is in amazing shape, no major scratches, scuffs, signs of wear or missing pieces. The plexi on the wind director does have a couple small scuffs. (pic 10)
It works great and is very quiet, it has the Euro plug with adapter. From my research it is highly collectible and would go good in many different collections.(if it's good enough for MoMA)
It is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3"
An icon of modern design and one of the company's best known products, the Braun HL1 personal table fan was designed by Reinhold Weiss in 1959 under the direction of Dieter Rams. Brought to market in 1961, the HL1 broke the tradition of the conventional circular fan by adapting the fan blades to fit into a cylindrical body. The fan's small size made it easy to fit on a user's desk. The fan has a chrome base and stem, plastic rotor and plastic housing, along with a two speed switch, a wall-mount hole in the base, and the ability to swivel to direct the air flow. A great example of high-quality German design, engineering, and workmanship that can be found in the permanent design collection of the MoMA and Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.
