This antique spring latch in the Eastlake style is dated from the Victorian period and is operated by pulling the chain which pulls the tongue in to the latch, releasing it from the included catch-plate.
Made of iron and in original salvaged condition with a layer of paint still on it, this piece can be cleaned up with a bit of paint stripper and a wire brush or left as is to maintain the patina from over a hundred years of use. Chain measures 22" long.
