The Otterville Manufacturing Company was founded in 1879 near Guelph, Ontario and started out making carpet sweepers and quickly diversified their offerings to include home furnishings such as this piano stool which dates from the 1890's.
In excellent condition for it's age, this stool adjusts up and down with ease. By simply turning the seat you can adjust the height by six inches to suit most anyone.
Painted with a deep mahogany brown finish with only a few small chips in the paint but a smooth finish otherwise. The brass claws have some corrosion to them and the glass balls have several small chips each as pictured.
A beautiful piece of Canadian manufacturing history for your home. Find more information on the Otterville Manufacturing Company at this blog:http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.com/2015/03/we-used-to-make-things-in-this-country_27.html
