Antique Noritake Handled Butter Dish with Ice Insert and Lid, Hand Painted Rose Design, Made in Japan

Rare Noritake piece in excellent condition. The butter dish with insert and lid has no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some light wear to the gilt on the finial of the lid, pictured. There are two small spots of paint on the interior of the bowl, part of the hand painted charm. On the insert there is a small bump in the pottery, a manufacturing defect. Hand painted in a beautiful rose pattern, a lovely collector's piece. The bowl is stamped underneath Noritake Hand Painted Made in Japan with the mark M surrounded by a wreath for Morimura, the original namesake of the brand.
