Design is of the Charlottetown coat of arms, a green and white shield for the coronation crown of Queen Charlotte Sophia, the city's namesake, a griffin on the left and a silver fox on the right, representing strength and the island's historical fur industry. Includes the motto "Cunabula Foederis," a Latin phrase meaning "Cradle of Confederation."
