1974 X Kongres SKJ (10th Congress of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia) lapel/stick pin. The X Kongres SKJ was held in Belgrade from May 27 to 30, 1974, and was a landmark event in the history of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The Congress followed the adoption of a new constitution earlier that year. This constitution transformed Yugoslavia from a partially unified state into a more decentralized confederation of republics and provinces. The pin includes a portrait of Tito, as this new constitution formally proclaimed Josip Broz Tito as the president of the republic for life. Yugoslavia was a Balkan country that existed from 1918 to 1992, uniting South Slavic peoples under two main iterations: the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918–1941) and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945–1992). Founded on the vision of unity after World War I, it was a diverse nation spanning Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. The pin is in good, vintage condition, some signs of age. See photos for condition.
Pin is 4.9 cm long
