Vintage Yugoslavian/Macedonian textile manufactory Teteks Tetovo lapel/stick pin. The company began operations in 1951, as a wool yarn factory under the name "Todor Tsipovski, Merjan" Teteks in the city of Tetovo (North Macedonia). The company rapidly grew into a textile conglomerate, expanding to over 400,000 square meters and employing 8,800 workers at its peak. As a pillar of the Yugoslav textile industry, the company was awarded the prestigious "AVNOJ" award in 1976 for its contribution to state development. The factory was also visited by President Josip Broz Tito in 1972. Vogue article "Tailoring in Yugoslavia," by Tena Razumović Žmara states that "Yugoslav fashion was not just a superficial play of trends. It was deeply connected to industrial development, the creativity of designers, and social changes. Factories across the country were more than just production facilities; they were places where identity was created, both on a national and personal level, that of fashion, creativity, and even art." The brand still operates today, exporting ready-made garments and blankets internationally.
