Union of Automobile Drivers AMS Yugoslavia Vintage Stick/Lapel Pin

$9.85

Vintage AMS (Auto-Moto Savez) Union of Automobile Drivers Yugoslavia lapel/stick pin. Auto-Moto Savez Jugoslavije (AMSJ) was the national automobile association of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. They were founded in 1946 right after World War II to help reshape the nation's transportation landscape. The organization focused heavily on promoting road safety, providing roadside assistance and vehicle towing, issuing international driving documentation, and organizing local motorsport events.
Yugoslavia was a Balkan country that existed from 1918 to 1992, uniting South Slavic peoples under two main iterations: the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918–1941) and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945–1992). Founded on the vision of unity after World War I, it was a diverse nation spanning Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.
The pin's design features the Socialist Star, which was the omnipresent ideological symbol used across state-run organizations in socialist Yugoslavia. The outer perimeter of the badge is stylized as a mechanical cog or gear, symbolizing industry, motoring, and technical modernization.
The pin is in good, vintage condition, some signs of age, stick is a little bit twisted. See photos for condition.
Pin is 4 cm long
