Vintage Limoges Porcelain miniature cowboy boot, made in France. Features bright gold gilt accents and trim, and Fragonard style "courting couple." Limoges' gold highlights were typically applied by hand using 22-24-karat liquid gold paint, which was then fired in a kiln to fuse the precious metal directly to the white porcelain glaze. Founded in the late eighteenth-century, Limoges porcelain is a luxury hard-paste porcelain made in and around the city of Limoges, France. This piece is likely from the 1970s- 1980s, when Limoges increased in popularity as souvenirs and curio-cabinet pieces.
