As early as the 16th century door knockers adorned peoples homes and although most knockers were fairly plain as blacksmiths developed their skills wealthy people began to have more detailed designs, often relating to local patterns and traditions. This chromed cast iron is elegant and bold in it's craftmanship with floral details and curves. There is rust throughout the piece giving it that real vintage charm. There are two screw holes, one at the top and one under the knocker.
