The Bolex H-8 REX is one of the most respected 8mm motion picture cameras ever produced, widely used by independent, documentary, and experimental filmmakers for its precision engineering, compact size, and interchangeable lens system.
This reflex model features through-the-lens viewing using Bolex’s prism reflex system, allowing accurate focusing and framing directly through the taking lens. The adjustable eyepiece includes a rubber eyecup and diopter adjustment for user eyesight correction.
This camera is fitted with a 1953–54 Paillard-Bolex H8 RX Macro-Switar 1:1.3 12.5mm lens, serial number 865684.
The camera appears to be in very clean cosmetic condition with light age-appropriate wear. The spring motor runs and mechanical functions appear operational, though the camera has not been film tested. The rubber eyecup shows some drying and bending from age. Included tripod shows normal wear including some stiffness in operation, minor nicks, and cracking to the rubber feet.
