Gay Fad Studios opened in Lancaster, OH in 1945. Gay Fad's founder was Fran Taylor, who worked at home for seven years hand decorating home goods and glassware items before opening the studio. Taylor and her staff designed a variety of patterns onto "blank" glassware purchased from Anchor Hocking, Hazel Atlas and Federal Glass, among others. While quite prolific during the mid-century, Gay Fad Studios closed in 1962.
